Lead-Free RoHS-Compliant IC Packages
ZMD AG has announced that it has completed conversion of its integrated circuit (IC) packaging to meet the lead-free RoHS (Restriction on use of certain Hazardous Substances) industry specifications more than a year ahead of the industry's July 2006 deadline. To indicate compliance to the environmentally "green" mandate, the company's IC packages bear the letter "G" for green, plus the numeral "1" for matte tin packages or the numeral "2" for tin-silver-copper (SnAgCu) packages.
