Cypress Ships 200 Millionth RoHS-Compliant Device

"Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has shipped more than 200 million lead-free components that comply with the European Union's directive on the Restriction on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS). Cypress continues to see consistent increased demand for RoHS-compliant, high-quality, nickel-palladium-gold (NiPdAu) packaging. NiPdAu is used instead of a combination of tin and lead (SnPb) that has been widely used in semiconductor packaging. NiPdAu is accepted by the semiconductor market, maintains excellent performance and reliability, and is compatible with existing SnPb assembly processes." Source: businesswire.com
